This thermometer works in 1 second! Simply aim a few inches from your forehead, hold the trigger for a second, release and get your recorded temperature! So easy and perfect, especially at this time! Since it's basically perfect for checking higher temperatures, I like the LOW function. Whenever you scan anything below 89.6 degrees Fahrenheit, the display will show "Lo" along with two beeps, indicating the body is at the ideal temperature. Anything above 100F and the reader will display the temperature along with 6 beeps as a warning. Above 107, "Hi” is displayed along with 2 beeps. Anything between 89.6 and 100 will show up on the thermometer. Uses 2 AAA (AAA) batteries. Not included. Battery charging would be desirable, but not a problem. The thermometer turns itself off automatically after inactivity, which saves battery life, so the batteries should last quite a long time :). Finally, make sure the thermometer is stored at room temperature as it will heat up in a hot environment and will remain closed until cool.
