Although our faucet is actually pretty good, we drink a lot of mineral water; And for the convenience of the occasion, just grab a cold one from the fridge and taste it. I also used half a gallon of distilled water a month in my humidor. I tried reverse osmosis (RO) water, which was converted from seawater in Texas many years ago. The tap water there (without reverse osmosis) tasted like the smell of a lake (which actually didn't bother me too much). I was blown away by how "perfect" the water tasted. I just thought it was time to move on to reverse osmosis... and settled on the 6 stage RCC7P-AK system (I thought about adding photos... You don't need to see mine - it looks like all other). When I bought the system I didn't give much thought to how big it was or how much space it would take up under the sink. The system is massive (and that's a good thing). So... it continues in the basement. An additional benefit is that I chose to connect the outlet to the fridge's water supply. It only took a few more weeks to get the extra hoses and fittings needed for the connections. I cut in the 1/2" supply line to the fridge with quarter turn valves using 3/8" flex pipe compression fittings. Following the well-written instructions and videos, everything went smoothly. I initialized by running water (with carbon particles) in front of the reverse osmosis membrane for 15 minutes (not allowing carbon to get into the membrane) and then looping the accumulator. β¦. The coffee the next morning was fantastic... while drinking plenty of mineral water we filled the coffee maker from the tap. The difference was that I noticed the caffeine flavor was almost gone by the end of the drink. I'm not Bobby Boucher Jr. but I would argue that the pH rise has a lot to do with it. My wife loves water and says she still prefers bottled water to reverse osmosis water. I scheduled a tasting test and I can report the results here π I was really shocked when Richard from iSpring got back to me (after completing the registration and ticking the box to contact me). Richard wanted to make sure I was happy with their product and asked if I had any questions. In our email exchange I found out why my flow is a bit lower than expected. I have about a 30 foot walk to the sink from the basement. The recommended maximum iSpring is about 15 feet. He suggested a "demand pump"...so a demand pump is on my shopping list. For me, that's everything I hoped for. Three thumbs up! I love the system... and the support!
