This is a good replacement for standard Malibu 12V bulbs (wedge base). The light is a little bluer than incandescent bulbs, but this isn't noticeable unless the two types of bulbs are placed side by side. I used them to replace 11w incandescent bulbs. The brightness of the LEDs is a bit lower, but again not to the point where you can notice it. Since a picture is worth a few words, the photo is attached to show two types of bulbs in adjacent fixtures. The conclusions can be left to the reader. (Apologies for the photo content. The calendar says it's almost April, but Midwestern Mother Nature says it's still winter. All the plants still look pretty dead.) People in other reviews mention the air conditioner flickering . I didn't notice this even though I'm using a typical Malibu transformer with 12VAC output. My guess is that the large (for a surface mount device) brown box on each bulb is a capacitor that smoothes the AC so the light doesn't flicker. If you turn off one of the bulbs, the LEDs will stay on for a few seconds. Also, lightbulbs placed in frosted glass fixtures look the same as incandescent bulbs. I was expecting to see dark areas as there are LEDs on the front, back and top of the board but not the left and right. I was glad that my expectations were not met. TLDR: no complaints.
