Review on 🔥 Nordic Hygge Värme Portable Space Heater Fan: Reusable Hand Warmer + Safety Features, Ideal for Home and Office, White, 6x6x5 in by Candace Young

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Misleading marketing but adequate performance

UPDATE: After a few weeks of operation the heating element seems to give up. The heat is not constant and sometimes the barley is warmer than the ambient temperature. This device is back - the rating has been upgraded from two to one star. INITIAL REVIEW I was delighted to receive it just after the recent Texas freezes while I was working at my desk blowing my hands and drinking coffee to keep warm. In the end, however, this heater disappointed me. What works: (1) This heater playfully blows warm air around my desk easily. (2) Its slim design is not unattractive. (3) I like that it has a rollover sensor that will sound an alarm and turn off the fan if it tips over. (4) During the checkout process, I contacted the manufacturer via a (strangely obscure) email address I eventually found on their website. They responded quickly, were friendly and professional, and offered a satisfactory solution to my problem with the order. What's wrong: (1) The air is slightly warm. Since it's a hand warmer and not a room warmer, it mostly makes sense. But 10 feet from my keyboard, somehow, the heat isn't enough - I have to constantly raise my hands to the heater to judge its effect. I believe strategic positioning is key; Directing airflow exactly where you want it can be a bit of an art. Various operating mode settings can help here. (2) Operating modes see enclosed brochure. As far as I can tell, there is only one: ON. There is no high or low setting. (3) The accompanying booklet, although slick, is written in very poor English, contains few and generally useless pictures, inaccurate operational information, and is virtually useless. (4) The lighting of the on/off switch on the top of the device is not visible in daylight. You can't tell if it's showing Power (green) or Shutdown (red). (5) "Hand warmer" is a trick. The product marketing promises that it will keep a temperature of 65 degrees for an hour after it is removed from the device. To think about it, 65 degrees is less than room temperature. I don't have the ability to take the temperature on the hand warmer, but I can say that for a few seconds after removing it from the heater, it was as warm as, say, my iPhone, and not as much as if I just put his hands on his pocket. The instructions also state that you shouldn't warm your hand on the heater for more than a few minutes while it's running. There is no alternative way to join him when the heating is on. You'll leave it floating around on your desk, in your desk drawer, and eventually in your trash can because it's useless anyway. (6) in their marketing campaign. It's made (and, I understand it, designed) in China. Because he's pretending to be someone he's not, the whole packaging is deceptive, and for some reason that's what disappoints me the most. In all fairness I will not be returning it at this time despite some obvious flaws. The two stars are due to what appear to be misleading marketing and operational flaws, especially when compared to the rather high price of this product. I wouldn't recommend buying it at the currently listed price of $99. This product needs some operational adjustments, a hand warmer reality check, a little more honesty about its provenance, and a fully English-speaking marketing team.
