My sons (6 and 8 years old) often ride their bikes to school, so this pocket-friendly option is perfect for them to slip into their backpack when needed. If they really needed them, they had no problem converting a bag into a jacket (and vice versa). In addition, the expandable sides are perfect for covering their backpacks.
