Review on Monster Master Sharpening Stone: Best Abrasive & Finishing Products for Knife Sharpening by Rushabh Gonsales

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The impressive sharpening set has comfortable handles and an unexpectedly beautiful wooden frame.

I am fortunate to have professional kitchen knives and although they can be sharpened at home I always take them with me to sharpen. I bought this hoping to test out cheaper knives and scissors to see how my husband and I could do it ourselves. As an added benefit, we look forward to using this for other things like our yard and garden tools. I was terribly excited to get this and get started, but being inexperienced I feel like buying a corner guide. I can't risk ruining a knife that costs hundreds of dollars by not having the right angle. I want this set to come with one. I recommend reading and watching videos on how to use them if you are a beginner like me. There is a lot of information out there and it is really helpful. One of the most important things to know is that you should soak the stones before use and keep them moist while sharpening. Another thing is that there are different methods, and some of them may be a matter of personal preference, so practice on some unnecessary equipment (cheap scissors, cheap knives, old lawn blades, whatever) before moving on to yours I like everything about it: four pieces of stone: two coarse ones (120 and 320 grit) for really coarse or crushed things that you need to give a few rough passes before sharpening, and two fine ones (1000 for regular sharpening and 4000 for Few The stones are glued together in two pairs (a headed pair and a skinny pair. The good thing is that they are double-sided and not four separate pieces. This makes them much thicker and easier to use. - The stones come with silicone grips Supplied to keep them in place when in use This set - The set also comes with a nice wooden frame I take a wet paper towel and place it under the ra hm so that it does not slip l from moisture and sharpening movement. The only thing I don't like (apart from the missing corner guidance): - There were no written instructions with it. There's some information in the product listing, but you'll need more if you're not already a pro at it. My 120 and 320 stones don't have the grit listed for some reason as does the 1000 and 4000 stones Overall this set is very durable and will last for years. Even though I'm still learning and can't immediately put my mind to what I bought this for, I'm really happy with this product.
