Review on πŸ‘Ÿ Dansko Women's Phylicia AquaShield Sneaker - Shoes for Active Women by Jessica Morris

Incredibly comfortable from day one

I work at a campground and spend a lot of time walking on gravel and firm dirt strewn with rocks and pebbles. Used to walk in quality hiking boots but decided to try hiking boots. I have tried 3 different brands of removable insoles (I use a 5/8 inch heel lifter for LLD) from 3 of my favorite shoe brands. One pair didn't fit at all but 2 of them felt great. The choice wasn't easy, but I opted for those that looked more like sneakers and were more versatile. I'm so glad I chose Danskos! To be honest, I wasn't sure if such a thick and stiff sole would work here in the rough terrain. But OMG it works so much better than my hiking boots. I can say right away that the soles of these boots are perfect for me because even on the rough gravel road they don't give at all. It feels like I'm walking on a flat sidewalk. The rocks beneath your feet are invisible. My ankles are more than adequately supported by the upper so they don't twist when I step on a large rock next to my foot. I didn't even feel any friction that you would expect from new shoes. I've worn them all day without the slightest discomfort and for the first time since I've been working here I went to bed WITH NO pain in my legs. These are definitely the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned and I can say they will last for many years. Last but not least, unlike other orthopedic shoes, they look great.

Pros

Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish
