Sherpa pet car accessories. but not what you imagine when you think of a traditional sherpa, which I like. The cover material resembles smooth dense cotton. It says it's waterproof. I wouldn't wet it; but it's definitely water-resistant and easy to wash off. It's not very comfortable to lie on; especially for Veronica who is older so I usually throw a fleece blanket over her when we are spending a lot of time in the car. A bench protector still protects much better than just a fleece blanket, which is not water-repellent and tends to slip. I should add that the seat cover has some patchwork; So it's all relative - it's not entirely impractical. Probably depends on what your dog is used to. Veronica is used to our beds and sofas. The color is a lovely neutral gray and is machine washable. I found the security bench to be easy to attach, and it helps that there is a graphic guide on the back of the box for those of us who aren't that well versed in space. There are harness cutouts so the cover can be used with dog harnesses. All in all ideal for traveling with furry family members. Especially those who tend to get their paws dirty and love to ride to dubious places with enthusiasm.
