Review on 🍞 Black and Silver Proctor Silex 2 Slice Toaster with Sure-Toast Technology, Extra Wide Slots, Shade Selector, and Bagel Setting (22302) by Joshua Wheeler

A simple no frills toaster that works well

This is a simple toaster that works well. It's missing a lot of the bells and whistles that "high-end" toasters use these days, but to me, simplicity is a good thing. Put the bread in, press the lever and wait for it to rise. It's easy to use, even before the first cup of coffee. There are several ways, but they're pretty simple. If you just want to toast one slice, there's a button that cuts off the center element so one side can't roast. There's also a bagel setting that only toasts the cut sides (assuming you put the bagel in the right way). There's the usual toast level control, which is a simple dial with numbers. The degree of toasting was fairly even and consistent across all settings. There is a crumb tray that is easy to access and clean. The build quality is more than acceptable considering the price. The device is lightweight but doesn't feel flimsy. On the outside, it's a combination of black and what the manufacturer calls stainless steel (it's more of a light gray color than real stainless steel). It pairs well with other Proctor Silex products - I also have their kettle and it pairs well. But even if you don't have any other Proctor Silex appliances, this appliance will go well with almost any kitchen decor. It's easy to use, makes good toast, and is reasonably priced for what it can do. Five stars.
