Scraping noise inside hub

I've had the 1500W kit for maybe 9 months. I just scoot around on the bike in the park. It is a lot of fun. With a 52V battery pack I've gotten it up to 38 mph at its fastest (which is too fast on a bike). I probably only have a few hundred miles total on it. The hub started making a light rotational scraping noise that I thought was the rear disc brake at first. I'll have to take the hub apart and see if the magnets have moved around a bit. It still works good but sounds like it will get worse

Pros
  • 48V 1500W Powerful brushless gearless motor with 34mph (55km/h) speed; Restricted to 750W and 24mph (38km/h) speed by default as a road-legal pedal bike conversion kit.
Cons
  • The throttle control can be unpredictable, making it hard to maintain a consistent speed

Excellent product and so much fun!

I have about 75 miles on this kit so far and it is amazing. Hopefully the following is helpful:I am 5’11” and weigh 170lbs. Bike tops out on flats at about 32 mph which is plenty for me as it starts to "death wobble” around that speed.I wanted to spend as little money as possible so I bought a solid platform at a thrift store. A Schwann Mesa for $45. The older model which was a local bike shop build.I bought a battery without a case bc it was cheapest. I bought 52v rated for a 1500w motor. I…

Pros
  • Great deal. Instructions for installation are lacking but you can find YouTube videos for help.
Cons
  • The intelligent controller and PAS system are complicated, making it difficult to set up and use without help

Awesome! with a warning, or two

Crazy powerful, and fast. Warning: Do not buy this motor if you are not willing to spend $400 or more on a battery. I love this bike with this motor, but after only a couple miles on a 48v 13AH battery, I have to turn on the limiter, or it will overdraw, and shut down. It needs a 52v 20AH battery or more. It should probably be used on a full suspension bike, because of the added weight. I upgraded the tires to 26 x 2.1, and that helps with tire durability, a problem when overloading a bike.Be…

Pros
  • E bikes
Cons
  • The price tag is expensive, making it unaffordable for many people looking to convert their bike

My wife smokes me going up hills now.

This is a powerful hub motor. I put it on as the drive wheel for a recumbent trike I got for my wife so we could ride together. I have a fat tire, all terrain tadpole trike with a 1000 watt mid drive motor mounted on the crank. I found her a sleek road trike and mounted it on the rear as the drive wheel. I also ordered a pair of axle torsion arms to connect to both sides of the frame- very important to prevent frame damage and structural failure. The instructions are vague about some important…

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • The included PAS system is not very advanced, lacking features like automatic power settings

Hard Reverse issue. Defective controller amp. Or throttle

Was jerky over bumps at first and I could not find the source of the irregular jerkiness. It did that up until it decided to go into reverse at 20 something mph and almost tossed me into a ditch. I’ve tried every hall/phase combo (36 of them) and could not get smooth forward rotation back out of it. I imagine a hall sensor failed. Or throttle.Otherwise great product. Let's fix this review when I get help.Ok

Pros
  • CE, EN15194 approved; 48 Volt electrokinetic cell battery with a nominal capacity not less than 14.5Ah is required.
Cons
  • The motor is not waterproof, so it may malfunction if used in wet conditions

The motor destroyed itself

The motor destroyed the wheel. I got everything and assembled it with some difficulty. The instructions are terrible and I had to watch several videos online, but finally got it together. At first, everything worked fine. I wasn't getting the power I expected, but it was functional. My speed quickly deteriorated though, and when I investigated I could see the motorized wheel had started to twist and was rubbing on the brake pad. I took it into a bike shop and they said the motor was too strong…

Pros
  • No battery
Cons
  • Kit LCD display did not come with my order and they rear tire tread that came with it was cracked

Doesn’t work! - my new review

Wasted a lot of time trying to make it to work! I bought all kinds of tools and $400 battery. The motor doesn’t start at all, perhaps sent me a DOA. But the there’s a power on the tiny LCD.Update: 8/22/20I just destroyed my $3K Specialized bike due to this. Also, how do these manufacturers expect people install the Pedal Assist? Even with the right tool, Crankset is so difficult to remove.I used axle, hand saw, hammer, welding machine, Bulldozer, even chainsaw just to get the freakin' Pedal…

Pros
  • Nice! Powerful and smooth. Its a step up from the basic chinese wheel. Glad i bought it
Cons
  • The 48V 1500W hub motor is too noisy, making it hard to ride without drawing unwanted attention

Good product!: my feedback

I really don't have a comparison but I think the quality is solid and worth the cost. It's pretty agile off the line (on full charge) carrying my 300+ lbs.

Pros
  • Sports & Outdoors
Cons
  • The kit requires regular maintenance to keep it running smoothly

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great price for what you get.

Easy to assemble kits. Built a few of these and all performed great. Flat roads 35 mph is what I've been reaching, [I'm 220lbs] very happy with the price point of these and the power.

Pros
  • Intuitive controller makes adjusting settings simple
Cons
  • The battery pack is not easily removable, making it harder to replace or upgrade

I finally got the 1500 watt kit installed and it doesn't work. I tried everything to get it working. It was a faulty controller as I expected. The throttle lights up when battery is powered up. Voilamart did nothing to help me get this kit going. Do not buy from Voilamart because they do not stand behind their product. As the saying goes you get what you pay for. My other kit was 500 bucks and it works flawlessly.Aaron

Pros
  • Increases travel speed
Cons
  • The power output may not be sufficient for off-road riding or steep hills

Works but was a little difficult to install

I put this on a 26" mountain bike from Walmart. The installation was ok up until I had to fit the hub motor on the bike frame. It was just too wide so I had to stretch the frame a bit which allowed the wheel to go on but it makes the tire sit at a slight angle. Besides that it works perfectly. I've gotten up to 32mph with this 1500w kit. Super fun and will buy another soon.

Pros
  • Increases overall bike value
Cons
  • The included instructions are not very clear, making it hard to assemble the kit correctly

Super Motor and wheel.

This motor is awesome. Good response. Super fast absolutely quiet. Goes at least 40 mph ( too fast ). The manual is very poor.take a lot for granite that you have to go through u-tube to figure out but I must say tech support always answered my question even though it all by mail and 3-4 days to get a response. The 20 + lb battery makes it pretty top heavy.had to rework my kick stand because it would tip over. This kit does not have a LCD screen nor will it support one which disappointed me…

Pros
  • Strengthens muscles without added strain
Cons
  • The throttle control can be hard to operate with gloves on, making it less practical for cold weather riding

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Easy install for me

Motor runs good. Pedal assist is great, throttle quit working first time out. Have to check on replacement or something to check.

Pros
  • Trusted brand for quality assurance
Cons
  • The kit can be hard to remove once installed, making it less versatile than other options

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Get it! Be patient on the build.

Short sweet honest review of the Voilmart 1500w hub motor. Is it fun? Yes! Oh the gobs of torque at the flick of your wrist throttle. Is it fast? Yes and yes at 35 mph easily on flat roads. Is it hard to install? Yes if you’re completely not hands on type of person. I relied on YouTube to guide me. I used a channel called Goldguy on YouTube as he used a step by step instruction on how he installed his 1000W rear hub motor. I also used other YouTube videos to reconnect the V-brake cables. How long…

Pros
  • Reduces effort required for cycling
Cons
  • The kit is not very customizable, with limited options for adjusting settings or features

Voilamart never again

Not good. Components started braking very quickly. Warranty is non existent. Very dishonest company. Voilamart never again.

Pros
  • Affordable price point
Cons
  • The kit lacks accessories, such as lights or a display screen, which can be crucial for safe riding

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Has it's quirks, but works well

Fast! and installed pretty easily. The 7 speed freehub that came with the wheel didn't fit my frame, so I replaced it with a single speed. Also highly recommend installing some switches on your handlebars to control the low/high power mode. I used a motorcycle indicator switch cluster since it also had switches for a horn and headlights

Pros
  • Low maintenance
Cons
  • The kit can make the bike difficult to store or transport, especially if the battery pack is still attached

To stop flats best in my review

If you do not use the Pas it will do 68kph. Kept getting flats. To help all buy 2 heavy duty wheel hub liners and a thornproof tube with slime .And a 40 dollar Tanus armout tire liner . No more flats now and the cornering amazing . love the ride i bought the joysee 48 volt 1500 watt battery w rack . i do 35 mph with range of 32 miles to 35 miles .love it

Pros
  • Efficient energy usage
Cons
  • The motor is not very responsive, with a slight delay between when the throttle is pressed and when the bike accelerates

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Never again in my review

This is my second kit that I purchased. I can say that this kit is definitely worth the money and is a great bargain compared to others. I can push out almost 5000w out of this motor and doesn’t get too hot.UPDATE: Hall sensors stopped working, the bike was great until it wasn't, tried to reach out to the seller to receive a replacement since I really enjoyed the product but the seller kept persisting on me having to fix the issue myself. Terrible customer service.

Pros
  • Extends the distance and range of travel
Cons
  • The kit can be hard to install correctly, leading to safety concerns if not done properly

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I wanted a kit that would except flex volt battery

All done and I love it so far. This kit is great I have a lot of flex volt dewalt batteries so I wanted to use them as a power source from the beginning. It seems to work great so far but I’ll edit if I break something.Still going strong

Pros
  • Fast, quiet, using on tandem bicycle. Every bit of 34mph with one rider, 30+ with two riders
Cons
  • The restricted wattage for road use makes it less powerful than competing conversion kits

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good value: my feedback

Have a couple hundred miles and so far so good. Tire that comes with kit is pretty cheap but otherwise no complaints That's my feedback!

Pros
  • Durable design extends lifespan of bike
Cons
  • The 750W restriction can make the motor feel underpowered for more experienced riders
