Works perfectly; Here's how to get to the internal diagnostics website.

I'm a former DSL user who has never used high speed cable Internet, so I can't tell you how this modem compares to other models, nor can other customer reviews. But this one has worked well for me so far. Just plug it in and run the Comcast Self-Install CD, which primed the modem without calling Comcast. After about 10 minutes I was connected to the internet (I had to restart the computer once). Much faster than my old DSL. And I like its thin profile, although it appears to only be designed for vertical installation (6 1/8 inches tall). Standby mode is an interesting feature, but seems unnecessary unless you connect the modem directly to your computer without a router/router. a firewall between them (in this case, you need to choose how often your computer is exposed to the Internet without firewall protection). I think the USB connection option is a bad idea - it can confuse inexperienced users and think everything is fine. to connect your computer directly to the Internet. I strongly recommend ONLY using this modem with a hardware router/firewall to protect your home computers (not just a software firewall, but hardware that blocks hackers from even seeing your computer). The user manual does not tell you how to access the SB5120's internal online diagnostics page. I found the IP address on Motorola's support page. Once the modem is operational, navigate to 192.168.100.1 to view various diagnostic data. about that.
