Not as soft, good for parts and components

Despite reviews to the contrary, not as soft as my previous bike seat (now in disrepair). Where are the seats for those of us who don't have natural back padding? Why is the part of the bike seat that accommodates the buttocks raised instead of recessed? Not happy with this seat.
