UPDATE: This cable comes with an adapter. The documentation clearly says you don't need it unless you're using an older phone. That is not right. ADAPTER MUST BE USED when using an iPhone or iPad connection. Bad documentation is worse than no documentation. Previously: Whenever the APRS software is running, this cable locks the radio into transmit mode. My guess is that it's either poorly shielded, doesn't attenuate phone/iPad sound enough, or radio frequencies are penetrating the cable. is not transmitting and is effectively disconnected from transmission, VOX will be disabled and the radio will begin transmitting almost as soon as the cable is connected. Documentation and support are missing. The BTECH website doesn't even mention that this cable exists. The cable packaging says APRS-K2, but the tab in the middle is marked APRS V1.
