I'm buying this BT receiver to add 'modern' convenience to my existing sound systems. I have newer BT speakers like Sony XB7, LG FH6 and a couple of JBL Flips. They're so easy and convenient that we rarely use my old sound system. These BT speakers sound good but not as good as my good old buddies. The original BLT-2 that I received had a noise issue when playing music. I emailed the seller and worked with their tech support. They sent me a replacement quickly. This device connects quickly and easily. It's always on standby, as are my Sony and LG Bluetooth speakers. This means you can wake it up by pairing it with your phone. The BLT comes with a DAC and sounds good. Better than the BT chip used by Sony and LG. There is no pop or click when plugged in, and no audible ground noise. Another advantage is that the DAC preserves the left/right stereo channels. I ran the following A/B test with my 3.5mm cable against BLT-2. The source is a Galaxy S7 with PowerAmp that plays 24-bit, 48kHz MP3 files. BLT with TDK BoomboxBLT to AGK 240 Tube Headphone Amplifier BLT to Sony AV Receiver to 7.1BLT Speakers to Mackie ProFX12 Mixer to KRKBLT Active Monitor Speakers to Crown XLI 1500 Amplifier to two 12" speakers. They all sound just as good as wired ones without the extra Noise. The only thing I noticed is that the volume is not as loud as through the 3.5mm cable. Not sure if this is related to the BLT output voltage. Maybe using one would other USB power port make a difference? Haven't tried that yet. I'm using an old leftover LGphone power plug rated at DC 5V 0.6A. Another thing you should know before buying this BLT or any Bluetooth One thing to keep in mind is that there will be lag, which means you can't use it for mixing or beat matching, but for listening to movies and music, it will do actual BLT has the lowest lag compared to other BT speakers I've had. The Sony XB7 has the biggest deficit. LG is slightly better, but still noticeable. JBL is better than LG. This BLT beats them all with APTX. I have nothing to complain about on the receiver itself in terms of sound quality and range. I'm glad I now have Bluetooth on my old system. Wanted to deduct a star for accessories. RCA cable is too loose, USB cable is too short. I end up using my own cables. However, customer service was excellent and quick to respond.
