Review on πŸ’Ύ Kingston Digital 32 GB microSDHC Flash Memory Card SDC4/32GB - High Performance Storage Solution for Your Devices by Nick Reddy

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Economical 8 GB microSD card with SD adapter, suitable for music or GPS

I have this card Purchased specifically for use in Garmin Oregon Portable GPS. It's Class IV, so it's not a lightning-fast performer in terms of speed, and is probably best suited for "static" data applications like storing MP3 music in a media player or cellphone, or maps in a GPS (which is what I use it for bought). By "static" I mean applications where the device is basically just reading data, not writing it. This card also works well with smaller or older digital cameras of 12 megapixels or less for photography or VGA (640 x 480) video. Class IV cards like this will almost certainly NOT work for high definition video. As a camera card, I would be careful with Kingston or Transcend cards. Since switching from film to digital cameras in 2003, I've had few SD card failures in digital cameras, but both were from Kingston and Transcend cards. I've never had a problem with the Sandisk card in the camera. Using these inexpensive cards for music or GPS mapping data is not a problem as long as you have (or should have) a backup of the data on your main home computer. If the card fails, just buy a new one (8GB cards are very cheap) and overwrite the data. But an in-camera card failure, say, during a one-off vacation, is another matter - you don't want to risk a cheap memory card when the same-size Sandisk card is likely only a couple dollars more. SUMMARY: Budget 8GB Class 4 micro SD card with adapter so you can use it in almost any device that supports micro or regular SD cards. Works well for read-only applications like music or GPS maps where you only write data to the card once, but use with caution in digital cameras, especially for essential photography where card failure can be a big deal. This card is NOT SUITABLE for HD video (greater than 640 x 480 resolution at 30 fps). Revain's non-irritating packaging is good: it's much easier to open than a regular heat-seal blister pack.
