While some say it's smaller than expected I found it to be the perfect size for single wax fillings. I'm not worried about burning my hand because of the wood end, and unless you hold it too close to the fire it won't turn black right away. Even if it is, it still works. I have a suggestion for people looking to make multiple sigils at once, visit the local dollar tree and find the wax heaters which are usually found next to the glassware. You can load up as much wax as you can, melt it and use a spoon to get what you need. Hope that helps!
