I bought this drill after searching online for a good "budget" 3/8 speed reversible drill. This keeps popping up in various "Top 10" or "Top 5" budget (under $35) cord drill reviews. I'm happy to report that there are many things you will like about this budget drill press including: Keyless chuck. There are many inexpensive keyless drills available, but many of them have a two-hand chuck that requires you to use both hands to easily tighten or loosen the chuck. This drill has a single-clamp (one-handed) drill chuck. With this type, you pull or loosen a single ring despite the internal resistance to rotation of the gearbox and drill motor. It is very comfortable! The longer single chuck also allows you to keep more of your hand on the collet to tighten/loosen it. 2. Ergonomics. The ergonomics of this drill are very good. Not only does the forward position of the handle make the drill well balanced, but the molded handle/grip is very comfortable and secure in your hand. 3. Power! This kid is great when it comes to power. It easily drove the #10 x 3.5" star drive wood screws I was using. W)! That's why I bought this drill and wanted a corded drill for my project! The drill also had a few not-so-good ones Things: 1. The forward-backward buttons are LONG!Every time I changed a little bit, I would somehow accidentally change the drilling direction.I found myself pressing the F/R switch while I holding it to do the swap.Annoyingly, I then had to flip the F/R switch in the other direction to complete the drilling.Once you look at the switches (buttons) you can see why they are accidentally being pressed. This is a clear design flaw in my opinion. 2. Play chuck end play (shaft?). It didn't seem to affect how I used it, but it was still unnerving. You keep thinking the cartridge is about to come out falls! I'm not sure if this is a one-time issue with my drill or an inherent production issue. I'll keep an eye on it over the next few weeks and see if it gets worse. The drill is covered by a two-year warranty, so I can send it back for repairs if needed. All in all, if someone is looking for a powerful budget variable speed drill, this one will still get the green light!
