Review on Renthal Fatbar Carbon Handlebar Unidirectional by Troy Larson

Anti Vibration Plus Width TIP

I really like this bar, although the loud graphics put me off at first. It's well done. I dare say it is better built than the Race Face carbon handlebar I have. It has angle markings in the center to help you line up the tilt. The sandy finish in the middle is great for traction with the stem to prevent over-stepping. The vibration dampening is really good for bumpy singletrack. This reduces hand fatigue. TIP 1. To adjust the width of the handlebars, assume the most effective position for push-ups. Then measure the outside of your left hand and the outside of your right hand. If you have small hands, add at least 20mm to your measurement to account for the width of the rubber grip. This is the optimal width. If you ride mostly downhill, you can add a little more. Let me put it this way: If your chest and biceps hurt after a long ride, then your neck is too tight. If my triceps and elbows hurt, they're too wide. Much luck! TIP 2: If you cut them, be sure to wear a mask and long sleeves. It's almost like cutting fiberglass and leaving your hands tingling for 48 hours. You do not want to breathe this material. Use a fine-grit handsaw and work slowly. You can file off any bumps at any time.
