Where to start with this little toy? I didn't go into it with very high expectations. First, it's the cheapest lens I've ever had and it doesn't fit the webcam. And I have a LensBaby, which is a REALLY EXPENSIVE way to take blurry (er, I mean "selective focus") photos. I tried this on my Tamron 17mm-55mm and thought it would be useful in the 35-55mm range, but at higher zoom levels it was IMPOSSIBLE to find a single focus point in the frame. At longer distances it (sort of) focused, but vignetting on the lens barrel was so severe that over 50% of the image was black. I ordered an adapter ring for this lens to fit my Canon 28-135mm kit lens and found that vignetting was very low in the 35-50mm range and I was actually able to find the focus point. Every fisheye I've seen is a little blurry and distorted near the very edges, but no matter how hard I tried I was only able to focus very sharply in the center of the image. Away from this very small focus, a radial blur sets in quite quickly. As others have said it is very light insensitive, on my f2.8 indoors I couldn't get the exposure right without going to high ISO settings. Outdoors in sunlight, my f4.5 lens was slightly better, but only wide open. Macro turns out to be REALLY VERY close-up. I have a Canon 60mm macro lens and can get a little closer with this silly little adapter but only the center of the image is sharp and there is a lot of radial blur around that central area where a proper Canon macro lens produces sharp, crisp sharp images from edge to edge (but costs more than $400 more). It reminds me of the pictures I got with the LensBaby Macro Kit and this toy also costs a few hundred more than this little toy. (In fact, I think I paid more for the extra macro kit for this lens than I did for this lens.) Shots. I think this toy could have some apps for special effects pictures and fun new angles on old favorites like pets and kids. Since it costs hundreds of dollars less than a real fisheye lens, don't think it will be a great photo tool whatever you do. To be really happy I just need to save my money and get a quality fisheye one day, but for now I think it's a great little cheap toy to keep in a Once Upon a Time in Blue kit. use of the moon.
