After playing in this glove for a full season my 5 year old son found it very difficult to control the glove in the way you would expect in baseball. The glove makes it difficult for my son to close the glove after catching the ball, even after it has been professionally made/seasoned for easy use. He's also very strong for his age, so let's not talk about user error. The colors are great which is one of the reasons we decided to buy this glove online without mentioning how the glove would actually work. My recommendation is if you plan on having a child use this for casual play I'd say it's good as you get what you pay for. If you want to develop baseball skills and play organized ball I would look elsewhere. The factor I knew but was hoping to get around at an organized prom during my son's freshman year is that you get what you pay for. Proper mittens for this age group cost between $50 and $100 if you want them to develop your skills accurately. Thing is, after 1 year of organized ball and lots of practice, my son is much better at catching with his bare hands, but he hasn't improved much with a glove on, lol.
