Not as advertised.

As the only way to judge this product is from product photos, buyers should be warned that the awl they receive is unlikely to be of the quality expected. The main reason I bought this awl was that it seemed to narrow down almost to the size of a needle but still had a comfortable grip. That's not true, the diameter of the tip is no thinner than most awls. Also, the awl itself appears to have been hastily glued in, and (at least from what I received) the awl was cocked at a slight angle, certainly not parallel to the handle. Finally, the wooden handle itself was very rough - practically unfinished. I bought this awl for bookbinding; simply by punching holes through multiple sheets of paper at once. While serviceable, I don't expect it to last very long and plan to replace it soon.
