Review on ๐Ÿพ Black ISM Touring Bike Saddle by Robert Pearson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Thought the concept was cool but it hurts my sit bones: 6000 miles a year Riders

The quality of this saddle is so high I'm embarrassed to only give it 3 stars but here it is Thing: .Like a guy who's ridden 6,000+ miles two years in a row on different bikes, I know a thing or two about saddle comfort. It took me years to realize that it wasn't just the quality of the saddle, the weight, the padding. and ergonomics. In fact, probably the most important factor is the distance between the sit bones; and that's something you can't control. Since this saddle's double nose flaps fit snugly, I figured it would fit my crotch nicely, while the back of the saddle and center cutout would aid in bum comfort. Except! .I have two other ISM saddles (Typhoon) which are fantastic. In short, the petals don't go in tight enough. immediately sit on the bones. I knew it would never work. I also bought the sport version of this saddle and give it the same rating. Good build quality but they claim it will be super comfortable but it just won't be for many if not most cyclists. I tested my ISM Typhoon and this saddle right on top of each other and on the Typhoon the petals are longer and come together much narrower. So they and my Brooks Imperial are still my best saddles, but I'm still looking for more comfort. Now I find that the most comfortable saddle for me would be a weird very narrow saddle like Fizik etc which I never would have thought of before. Just to be clear, this ISM touring saddle would not be comfortable even when riding a cruiser and riding upright. The sit bones just wedged themselves into the base of the saddle and hurt like hell.
