I recently upgraded a MacBook Pro with a side SD card reader to a 2017 iMac with a rear SD card reader. Having a reader on the back is terrible. I have to move my iMac to get to the port. So I needed something more comfortable. After a long search I decided on this reader. I am very satisfied after about 4 weeks of use. My requirements were: 1. Must have a built in cable (I hate the mini USB 3 connection, it's too unreliable)2. Must be able to read SD and CF3 cards. Must be USB 34. Must be able to support UHS SD cards (UHS II would be nice but not required). It meets all of these requirements. I used both the CF slots and the SD slot. The SD slot is upside down, which is a bit annoying but not bad. The CF slot fits well, no problems with bent pins so far. It also works in conjunction with the Apple Lighting to USB 3 Adapter to transfer photos to my iPad. . Please note that you will need an adapter with a lighting grommet to provide enough power to run this reader on your iPad. All in all a great purchase.
