Review on Minolta MD Rokkor-X 1:1.7 f=50mm Lens: Crystal Clear Imaging at Your Fingertips by Johnathan Hegie

Nice little 50 good lenses

I haven't actually photographed this lens because I only received it today, but I have to say it's very good, I use it with my wife Sony Alpha A77ii Fotodiox MD-SN(a) lens adapter. The manual adjustment (focus/iris) feels solid and smooth, the lens attaches very tightly to the adapter and everything feels great. f2.8 at the low end, the wide open camera is quite soft and blurry so I guess f1.7 is not used very often if not at all, almost looks like the lens is due to a fingerprint on the lens a bit blurry. , but at f2.8 the image is sharp and the bokeh is really soft and creamy, I couldn't see any chromatic aberration so that's always a plus. Overall I'm very happy with this 50mm lens from the few I've used. , I only gave it 4 stars because I think f1.7 is useless for this model. Feel my days in mirror photography. (All test photos were slightly edited in Lightroom CC with only minor adjustments to shadows, highlights and contrast. Just a basic touch. Product images are from my iPhone 6+)
