Grill, toaster and air fryer in one unit required to upgrade through the toaster. This smaller area with so many cooking options was a draw. Having so many features in a small space comes at a price; at least apparently with this iteration. Why can't the so-called multifunction device program any presets? We like that the sides don't get hot. But making toast takes twice as long as making a toaster. Babies darken before being fried. Using a hot plate is cumbersome and will at least burn the hot plate if not your body. Not critical, but the constantly flashing Breaker Ready light is annoying at best. If the function of the functions adds up from poor to satisfactory, it guarantees no tolerance for its shortcomings. Keep in mind that the fryer craze has spawned many proponents, and each seems to have their own views, quirks, and trade-offs with the end product, although they certainly don't paint that picture in their descriptions. I think it's odd, at the very least, that some parts of this instrument are exact copies of a number of others in this category. Our main requirement was a smaller footprint with more internal volume, so we left out Emeril and other big, wide guys. But now that we've used this machine and its toy grill, we're going to reconsider some of the requirements we originally had before making another choice. My advice to other buyers is to steer clear and do your research, read reviews and watch demos/reviews on youtube before making a decision.
