Perfect for what I need. My cats didn't take them off, but I can take them off so I know if they need to open the can. Nice and loud until they learn to walk without making noise. TO UPDATE! This was my previous review, today I came home from a 4 day vacation and one of my cats is acting weird. He's a recluse, but he finds himself sitting with his mouth open and comically drinking water. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the collar was very tight. I couldn't unlock it and ended up cutting it off from him. He kept it in his mouth for days, apparently. Mouth and gum ulcers are old. And the tongue is dry. Use the extreme cation as I couldn't "tear off" the latch.
