I thought it was a normal silicone case. I only bought it so my Switch lite wouldn't break if (and if, let's be honest) I drop it. But it has cool, comfortable grips that make holding my device even easier. I've dropped my switch a few times and no dents or scratches. I bought two more, one for my daughter and one for my boyfriend.
