This is an excellent letter iron. They didn't have instructions, so I practiced on a piece of cloth using a few letters I could spare. When I was sure, I turned the shirt I wanted to wear inside out. I carefully arranged the letters in a straight line in the correct order so that when the shirt is turned inside out, they come out correctly. I checked again to make sure they lined up, then pressed down on the shirt to make the letters stick. It only took 30 seconds to stick them on the fabric. (I used the wool setting on my non-steam iron). I had no problems and the letters look great. I particularly like that the white border around the letters is solid felt while the black part of the letter is embroidered. I'm happy!
