The charger only worked well for about a month, the GPS worked perfectly and I was able to connect my iPhone to one of the charging ports while the device flagged my GPS with none of the supported issues flagged by other users became. Initially I was very happy with this item despite having to spend at least 8 additional feet of unnecessary cable. Despite good care and storage in a suitable case, within a few days the cable at the junction that connects to the GPS began to snap and power from the car did not get to the GPS rendering the GPS unusable. Worse, this lack of power didn't happen immediately, but after the GPS was charged and working well. In other words, in the middle of a ride controlled by my Garmin, I suddenly got a signal that it was no longer receiving power, and 30 seconds later the Garmin turned itself off completely. In the middle of a trip when I depended on my Garmin it was a nightmare. The problem got worse and now this charger is not powering Garmin at all. Deeply disappointed with this performance. Too bad I didn't take the advice of other bad reviews on this device. Wouldn't recommend it.
