I've been using this product for a couple of months now and it's holding up great. I have no problems with "mold". I always leave it open to allow ventilation. I wonder if those reporting a mold issue will fold the product when not in use. This creates a constant humid environment for mold to grow on the wood. We have placed heavy pots/pans etc on it and it has held them without strain/breaking.
