Not the best BF-H7 in CB and talkback radios

Good thing this radio is almost 10 watts. This is an attractive radio, good weight, easy to use. The HUGE cons are: 1) Baofeng BF-H7 is a much better radio, with channel selection at the top. And 2) the blue lettering on the keys is almost invisible indoors, much like the UV-5R. Who was responsible? I had to use a flashlight to see them. And finally, scanning is difficult. On the $29 UV-5R, it scans easily but is a bit sluggish. The same radio sold by Raddioddity has bright gold icons that are easy to spot in any light. It is dark blue on a black background. Only black inscription on black would be worse. Ouch! The radio works, you can learn it, and it puts out about 10 watts. This is a powerful radio, but if you want an excellent 8W radio, get the Baofeng UV-82 (8W) or 82HP (High Power) version. It might be the BEST radio, not for the money, but for the best time. It comes with two batteries, a programming cable, an antenna and an external microphone for a great price. And it is equal or better than H6. But all these radios are GREAT. It would be a good idea to keep it in the trunk, especially when driving through snow, ice or desolate Death Valley where you can get into trouble and your phone won't work.
