I bought this after we had our basement professionally cleaned. Although the musty smell was gone from the basement, a slight chemical odor from the cleaning lingered. I tried airing it out, spraying Febreze and turning on the dehumidifier but the smell was persistent. I bought one of these and placed it at the top of the stairs to the basement. The air definitely smells and even feels fresher. While not very offensive, this product definitely has a "fresh scent". I'm very sensitive to all smells, so this worries me a little. But managed to get rid of the chemical smell in the basement.
