This is a great hamster wheel. It is almost silent, durable and easy to clean. So why did I buy a 10" exercise wheel for my dwarf hamsters? Because even dwarf hamsters walk through smaller wheels in an uncomfortable walking position, running on a smaller wheel often causes their spine to arch, which can lead to serious health problems over time. And Contrary to popular belief, small hamsters can easily spin the larger wheel. My robot loves this wheel and has no problem with it. I would buy an 8" silent lure as my hamsters are small, but Kaytee offers that size on this model don't wear them, so I went up a size, not down, a large wheel (8" or more for midgets, 10" or more for large breeds) is extremely important to their health!
