I almost gave 5 stars would have given 4 1/2 if that was an option. The instructions are simple and understandable. I suggest you cut it one size larger than your recommended waist measurement. You can always trim if it's too long. I like the end of my belt to extend a little past the first loop of my pants to keep it from dangling. There is a loop on the belt but it is very close to the buckle. The front of the belt is canvas, the back appears to be rubber but is actually leather. It's nice anyway. The ratchet system works perfectly. The buckle is metal and heavy. Maybe it should be metal. It would be nice if it was HD plastic or carbon fiber so it could be carried through airport security. But overall a great belt that is worth the money.
