As you can see in the video my belt broke after 2.2 years. You can see on my original invoice that I purchased a Slidebelt canvas. However, after trimming the belt. It won't stay pinched since canvas isn't as stiff as leather. Thus, it will not compress and hold the locking mechanism. When I called and spoke to CS @ Slidebelt. They already knew about the problem (did they keep selling?). The agent told me how to "happily" fix the belt. But I just wanted a replacement skin. They were "very nice"

I almost gave 5 stars would have given 4 1/2 if that was an option. The instructions are simple and understandable. I suggest you cut it one size larger than your recommended waist measurement. You can always trim if it's too long. I like the end of my belt to extend a little past the first loop of my pants to keep it from dangling. I originally gave this product 2 stars because the strap material could not handle the grip of the buckle and eventually failed. I ordered another belt that worked fine - so it looks like they fixed this quality issue. As a result, I would happily give it a higher rating, except that the buckle design itself began to fail repeatedly. My first reaction was mixed. The belt uses a plastic insert that is built into the leather backing of the belt. The insert uses teeth that secure the buckle. Interesting design that really works. This also means that the "Canvas" belt is actually a leather-lined belt with a canvas overlay on the front. Not so hot what's up. Works well, looks good. I have been wearing slidebelts for many years. I loved them but now the straps are very poorly made. In the end I have to cut off the end of the strap that is fixed in the mechanism. I would trim my belt once a month or two. Now I have to cut that belt every other day! It just rips all the time and when I hold something in my hands my pants start to fall down! I don't know what they changed about the belt but I will never buy it again. For $40 I expect more!

I bought a pair of slidebelts about 4 years ago and they were fantastic but over time the coating on the buckles wore off and the webbing became too short because the end it was on is fastened, repeatedly cut into a buckle. My belts were worn every day in a construction environment that doesn't care about clothes, but I was happy to get four years out of two belts as most of my clothes barely lasted six months. I bought two of these belts and both had trouble unbuckling the buckles. I called SlideBelts about this and they sent me a new canvas belt and a new "leather" belt to use with the original buckles. I am told they have been improved and the buckle will not fall off (the originals will wear and loosen). I've tried both straps and the buckles keep falling off. I have had this belt since December 2018. It worked well for the first three months, but the inferior materials used to make the belt gradually revealed its flaws. The main reason a canvas belt won't work is because the material used on the back of the belt is on the side where the buckle teeth snap. The teeth don't go very deep and the material is almost like soft rubber so the teeth will eventually slide over the material causing the buckle to slip and the strap to snap. I slowed down this…
