Buckle broken after 4 months

My first reaction was mixed. The belt uses a plastic insert that is built into the leather backing of the belt. The insert uses teeth that secure the buckle. Interesting design that really works. This also means that the "Canvas" belt is actually a leather-lined belt with a canvas overlay on the front. Not so hot what's up. Works well, looks good. There is one major flaw I found (as others have pointed out): the side of the buckle that needs to stay attached to the belt uses a flip-over clasp with teeth designed to grab the belt. Works great, except this clasp opens very easily if you unbuckle your belt or move the belt over other clothing causing the buckle to fall off (e.g. you slide the belt towards the buckle and the buckle comes undone, loose hold of the belt and falling off ). A simple fix is to put a piece of clear vinyl tape over this clasp to keep it from opening too easily. The tape is not visible and can be removed if necessary. I really wanted to like this belt. Unfortunately the buckle fell apart after about 4 months of use. The pin that holds all the moving parts together has fallen apart (looks like it should have a cap on the end of the pin that will be crimped in when everything is assembled). I expected a few years of life without a belt, not a few months.
