We have two cats. Sam who is about 12 years old joined our family a year ago. He refuses to eat anything but dry food and is currently on a restricted diet. We had Java who is 15 years old from 10 weeks old. She eats everything and everyone. As mentioned in my previous review (below), Sam was the reason we started the probiotic journey. Neither cat ever goes outside. This product briefly worked wonders for Sam. I kept it in the fridge as recommended. Within the past 48 hours, the deposits in Sam's toilet have returned to their original loose, smelly state. What's even more worrying is that Java is just as bad and that it's a problem she's never faced in her life. I can only conclude that the product has deteriorated. I threw it away and went back to Purina Forti Flora recommended by our vet. Once this is resolved I will continue to buy from her. (We switched to NWC Naturals for the reasons listed below.) Lesson Learned: Beware of edible products that don't have an expiration date.******************** * Our vet recommended a probiotic supplement for one of our cats whose poop is smellier than my late grandmother's double hole toilet. The vet also assured me that our other cat wouldn't cause any problems; She compared it to adding yogurt to a person's diet. The doctor was right about the money. This helped Sam without negatively impacting Java. The glass is more than half empty, but the powder is sold by weight, not volume. I think the size of the container is determined by the size of the measuring spoon - if the jar were small enough to appear "full" when opened, the measuring spoon that would fit in would be too small to be easily manipulated and used will. likely to phase out the product. I think that's a lot because you get enough for 100 cups of food. A standard bag pack of about the same price is designed for only 30 cups. I really like the lack of packaging because it keeps 100 empty bags from clogging up our landfills.
