This bilingual cable could connect an old Sony DCR-TRV10 camcorder with a 4-pin FireWire 400 port to a mid-2012 MacBook Pro with a 9-pin FireWire 800 port (unlike other similar cables). cable I bought that said it was NOT bilingual) which saved me about 19 hours of footage from old MiniDV cassettes.
