Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Xuron Round Nose 488 Pliers: Versatile and Precise Tool for Various Applications by Summer Hendricks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal for fine and thin silver wire structures.

I've searched websites and jewelers for pliers with very thin jaws but to no avail. I finally found them with a broader search: electronics experts hid these tiny, sleek pliers in plain sight. The grip is comfortable and the action makes the pliers very easy to use for long periods of time, which is a must for anyone who spins wire. Well-machined, smooth grommets still hold the wire securely - no tension required. In general, they are ideal for working with 24 gauge plus wire or 22 gauge soft silver wire. Although these are high quality pliers, they should not be dropped, used as a pry bar, buried under a hammer, or used on thick, stiff wire. . If mishandled, the tiny tips can warp, snap, or (worse) become damaged, which translates to your working wire. You should treat yourself, because with this tip you can work with wire even in very narrow places. They are ideal for creating delicate filigree work and for weaving thin wire over heavier, stiffer wire. They can have many other uses, maybe even for tying beads if I can keep them on my workbench and out of the hands of the local geeks. 18 gauge or below. Their ultra-thin spade lugs have little impact on thick wires. Even 20 gauge semi-rigid wire can damage the pliers - I don't want to try it. Check for updates as I learn more using it.
