Great Selection - Computers and Accessories

I was interested in buying a modem because I have to pay $10 a month for the Comcast xfinity service using their box. This block pays for itself in 10 months. I started by purchasing a refurbished Aris device that was supposed to be compatible. That's two hours of my life that I'll never get back. The device was not working so I decided to buy new and based on the reviews I chose this device. I was online in 15 minutes. I opened the box, unplugged my current WiFi router/module, plugged that in, logged into the router (instructions were included) and called Xfinity. The Xfinity Challenge took the longest since they had to enable it on their site. I waited about 10 minutes for my new modem to communicate with Comcast and then, boom, it worked. May I say that it is actually faster than the previous modem? Maybe I'm just looking forward to saving $10 a month. I highly recommend this device. Our apartment is 1,100 square feet and we have our modem in a separate room. Internet is clear and fast. ****** UPDATE 8/20/18********* It's been 2 years and this thing has stopped working. I went to my cable company and used their router for a day to see if my router was the problem. normal wifi speed. I contacted Netgear to see what support they could offer, only to be informed it would cost AT LEAST $90. So yes, it's a cheap modem to start with, but it all depends on how long it lasts. Support is only included for the first 90 days, so if you have problems after that, charge a fee MORE THAN THE COST OF THE ROUTER just to fix the problem. I cannot recommend any company that does not endorse their item.
