I drive a 1989 Toyota MR2. This car has the engine and transmission in the center for weight distribution. When cold, they idle at 2000 rpm, which creates a tremendous amount of noise and vibration. Also on the road, especially on the open track, their cars SCREAM when they hit 65 mph at 4000 rpm. Something had to be done. EXTENSION MAT. I've covered about 40% of the area of the engine cover with stick mat and the results are amazing. I had a lot of bar mat left over, so I applied it to various parts of the engine compartment panels. Ideal. Now the car is quiet and calm. Now I can hear air coming out of my vents and other little things in the car that I've never heard before. I highly recommend this product for sound and vibration isolation. It's easy to shape, cut and stick to anything. Just make sure there is no dirt on the surface and you're good to go. I cut the arrow mat for my application with tin snips, then bent and shaped around the corners, bumps and indentations. You can feel how strongly it sticks to any surface you choose. This product really is one of Revain's best!
