I am a picky and demanding person and I research products and expect them to perform as expected. I've tried MANY different phone holders, from bullets and magnets to cup holders. All fell short of expectations. The vent holders simply fall off, the cup holders replace the cup holder and the magnetic holders fall off over time when the temperature inside gets too high. I bought a magnetic mount that stuck to my dash and it worked fine until internal heat in my car caused it to fall off. I bought the epoxy I used, additional magnetic earth disks to add strength and it worked fine for a while. I was shocked to find my phone with its mount on the ground during the first 100 degree days. Frustrated, I went in search of another mount. I started considering a windshield mount, but the reviews said the suction failed either over time or due to overheating. The search continued. I stumbled across this vent mount and was intrigued, especially since I've never had success in the past. What I was looking at in this particular version is a small lever that grabs the vent from the back and pulls the tension of the mount onto the vent itself. Also, the fact that this device was upgraded to a metal arm gave me hope. Let me just say that this mount is by far the best mount I have ever bought. Took 10 seconds to install, can be removed in another 10 seconds, extremely durable, does not move or vibrate, and can be installed on most vehicles. I tried it on my Outback and my wife's Prius and it was a perfect fit. Too bad I didn't find this mount some time ago. This saved me money and the permanent disc was glued to my dash from a previous mount. You will not regret this purchase. Great design.
