The surface of the leaves looks worse

I tried this product on a crocheted triceratops that I crocheted for my son. I needed something to remove the pills. Unfortunately this product didn't work and actually pulled out the yarn making it even fluffier and uglier. At first I was looking for a sweater shaver (electric) but I saw this one and thought it would be better because it doesn't require batteries and doesn't need to be plugged into an outlet.
