Review on ASUS VE247H Gaming Monitor 1920X1080 Backlit 23.6-inch, 76Hz, by Nathan Copenhaver

I bought one of these and another without speakers (VS247H). I use this to do double duty. Sometimes this is my 3rd laptop monitor via VGA. Other times I use it as a TV screen connected to my HD cable (FiOS) via HDMI. It is always connected to both and input selection is done with a simple push of a button. If you're trying to use this, be aware that an HDMI cable box offers all-or-nothing audio. The volume control is located on the monitor. Via HDMI the cable box on "0" plays no sound, the cable box on "1" plays the same sound as on "30" - the maximum setting. It doesn't bother me but I spent time trying to figure out what was going on until I read about the behavior elsewhere. The image on the monitor is clear and bright, the on-screen menu works well. The 2 ms response time eliminates blurring during strong movements. I am very happy with the purchase, especially after the discount that brought the price down to $136. The stand only works in the horizontal position. I removed the stand and use the mounting bracket when I need it in portrait mode.
