This extension cable carries power and data over 30 feet, making it very useful for remote projects. I had a Z-Wave USB dongle that I wanted in my attic, but I wanted to rub power in there (maybe, but tedious). I put a Raspberry Pi in my basement and used a key to run a cable between the walls in the attic. Plugged in and turned on immediately. The radio is transmitting and I am receiving data. It's not a lot of data but enough for my home IOT projects.
