I bought it to use and abuse it. I assume that over time they will lose their luster, shine and overall "new" look. I want something I can stick food on, use and abuse, and not worry about shelf life. This is compliant. I expect to use them for many years, they are very durable. Sometimes I hear a popping sound, it's the metal expanding with heat. This is a NATURAL event. Other reviewers have complained that they are jerks. Metal is expected to expand, it in no way destroys my toaster, my kitchen, my home, my life, my soul, my chi, my karma or my image of humanity. All of this remains despite that horrible, horrible natural expansion of the metal. Remember that people like to complain about anything and everything, even toasters, and it's up to you, as a smart, mature, rational thinker, to distinguish this from coherent thinking.
