The packaging does not dissolve well.

I use the plugs in both black and gray tanks. I use my gray tank primarily for an indoor stored RV for odor control so I have a very good idea of how many bacteria are in the tanks. In the gray aquarium there are many bacteria that start to smell after a day. I use half a gallon to a gallon of vinegar for long term storage to kill bacteria. For everyday use, I add a drop once the vinegar is washed off and diluted. This brand of pack is not suitable for my gray aquarium as the pack does not dissolve well and I have to dissolve it while sitting on the siphon. I've placed them in sinks and shower drains and submerged them repeatedly, but the outer packaging hasn't dissolved enough to get the powder into the tank and opening it isn't a good idea as the paint stains. They'll likely dissolve and release the chemical in my black tank when there's enough liquid, but I prefer Camco TST Ultra-Concentrated Orange and Citrus Toilet Cleaners because they start working right away with no fuss. The Camco drops smell really nice and I only need one drop to fight bacteria in the black and gray tanks. I see no reason to stick such a heavy duty, barely soluble case on Septic powder. Do an experiment: you can literally soak them in a glass of water for a few minutes, take them out and dry them overnight, and then put them back in. When I've used them all in my black tank, I won't buy any more.
