These are definitely not water shoes. They are very fragile and won't withstand anything hard you encounter in or near the ocean (e.g. stepping on a shell or rock/coral). They offer zero protection or comfort from water below 55F. They are very big. My actual height is 9.5 and the 9-10 I bought fits my girlfriend who is 11 years old perfectly. I've worn them on concrete and they have no cushioning. I have worn them around the house and they are fine. They won't be ok if the temperature drops below 65F. You definitely have to wear socks. Just skip it because there are much better products out there.
