When the socks arrived I was a bit disappointed that they weren't thicker than regular Costco athletic socks. But after my recent ski trip to Park City, Utah, where my two sons and I used these socks in 15-30 degree temperatures and a few days of heavy snowstorms and wind, I can say that these socks were really great. . They stayed dry and kept all of our feet warm even though we skied and snowboarded 6 hours a day. The size is very flexible. I bought an S/M for my youngest son and shared a pack of M/L with my eldest son. I can pull my socks up over my knees, but I can put them on without pulling too hard and the shafts come down to the back of my knees. This is the perfect length for skiing and snowboarding. I would definitely buy again.
