Review on Putco 12002 Luminix High Power LED Fog Lamps: Enhance Visibility with H16 Harness, 1 Pair by Joshua Days

A little disappointed.

Vehicle: 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 SLTI loved those fog lights. When I opened the box I was struck by how well made they are. Very good construction. I installed them, which was pretty easy. What I didn't like now was the execution. I thought the beam profile would be like this. fog lights. The beam profile is round. Even with the headlights fully adjusted, most of the light is directed upwards from the road. I hid the projector headlights and these fog lights illuminate the trees above my low beam headlights. I can't imagine using these "fog lights" in fog. You would do worse. As for the brightness, I was disappointed again. With the headlights on, the difference is barely noticeable at best. My stock fog lights seemed better even though they were halogen. They at least light up the roadside, even though they're a horribly yellowish color. I ended up sending them back, just couldn't justify the cost of the poorer performance. Now they will be bright for the approach movement, maybe too bright because they are looking directly at the uncovered LEDs. Niacin knows what you're thinking - I say they're dim, but they're too bright for oncoming traffic. I think if they had a reflector to focus the light they could be used, but the design is like a candle in the middle of the room. The light just scatters in all directions. If your only goal is to rack up some style points and you don't care about the functionality, buy it. They look great even when turned off. Photos: 1. Stock fog lights and hid headlights2.
